Eighth grade curriculum starts up where seventh grade left off in United States history. We will study the indigenous populations and the beginnings of our country; the Declaration of Independence; the Revolutionary war; the Constitution and the formation of our government; and the Civil War. In class we will be listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish. We also place importance on our role in the world and how we can affect the future. My students will practice problem solving, teamwork, creative thinking, and analyzing history in class. We produce a variety of work during the school year including: posters, models, writing projects, scripts, electronic media and oral presentations.
